Beautiful Fine Art Pony Portraits

Welcome to my Fine Art, studio style, Pony Portraits…For little people who don’t have their own pony friend at home.
These limited Pony Portrait mini sessions are only available throughout June, July and August each year and are perfect for capturing unique and beautiful portriat’s of your pony-loving child. During a 30 minute photo session here in my Drouin studio with our beautiful pony Midnight, who is sweet and kind and used to being around little people, we will create some very special memories! Each session is designed to be fun and I aim to capture portraits of your child with and without Midnight, in gorgeous, candid, fine art style photographs.
There are two set designs to choose from. One with pretty flowers and one slightly more rustic with a wagon wheel and cowboy hat. You will choose your preferred design during the booking process and it will be set up before your arrival. Please note: only one set option is available per booking.
These sessions are for children aged 5 to 12, as it’s important that they are able to follow instructions and be mindful that they are with a real pony. If you would like your 3 to 5 year old child to have photos with Midnight, please give me a call on 0412 942897 to chat before booking. These sessions are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
What to expect during your Pony Portrait session...
On arrival, the studio will be open, so you can come straight in.
After a quick introduction, we will head down to where I do the pony portraits, which is an undercover outdoor space a few steps from the studio. Warm clothes are highly recommended for everyone. We will begin by capturing a few photos of your child in the setting, this will help them to relax and get used to things before we bring Midnight in. Then, once everyone is relaxed and calm, Midnight will come in and stand next to your child. Your child can choose to hold Midnight’s lead, or give him a pat, or if feeling really brave, a little cuddle.
If your child is really worried about being near Midnight, I have many years experience working with children and horses, and will do my best to make sure your child feels comfortable with Midi. We can also take some photos outdoors and give them a little more space if need be.
Please note that no children are allowed to sit on Midnight. All handling is done from the ground only.
Cost to you...
Your Pony Portrait photo session booking fee is $250. This is payable at the time of booking and includes your photo session with one or two children, as well as your photo reveal and purchasing session straight after the shoot while you are still in the studio. Photographs are purchased separately on the day you visit, with prices starting from $100 for a 5 inch x 7 inch matted photo and frames and canvases from $405 up $1035.
Each printed photo purchased comes with the corresponding digital file. The files are sent to you via direct download and your printed photos can be posted to you with tracking. The postage price will be quoted depending on products being sent, and will be posted within two to three weeks of your session. Alternatively, they will be available for pick up.

When are the pony portrait sessions available? Pony portrait sessions are only available in June, July and August each year.
Why are pony portrait sessions only available in June, July and August? I am a full time working photographer and the studio is used throughout the year for various activities such as photo reveals for my equine clients and photography workshops (yes I teach photography). The seasons also dictate when I can be available for studio portraits as my equine photography happens while the weather is nice over Spring, Summer and Autumn.
How do I book a pony portrait session? Bookings are made online by clicking the ‘Book your spot now’ button above. You will see the available dates and times in the booking section.
Can I bring my own pony? No sorry, this is for children who do not have their own pony.
How long is a pony portrait session? Each session is approx 30 mins long and the reveal/purchasing session takes approximately 30 mins, so all up, about 1 hour.
What happens if I miss out on an available spot? Unfortunately the sessions are very limited each year so if you don’t find a spot this year, we can pop you on our wait list for next year.
What are the themes? We have two themes available, one that has pretty flowers in the foreground, the other has cowboy boots and hat, a rope lasso and a wagon wheel. (the rustic flowers across the top of the barn doors are in both themes)
